I'm pretty sure it's fucking flooded.

From what we've seen at least 80% of the city has AT LEAST 1 foot of water.

From NOLA.COM:

Streets in the heart of Uptown once known for their canopies of old oaks -- Calhoun, Nashville and State -- now have carpets of oaks. The streets are impassible, wall to wall fallen oaks trees.

Another Uptown landmark, the root beer mug on top of Ted's Frostop on Claiborne and Calhoun, was on the ground.

There was hit-and-miss street flooding Uptown and in Hollygrove. Some streets were inundated and others bone dry. Most streets were impassible because of downed trees and power lines.
Damage to most homes appeared to be minimal.
There was an occasional tree on a car or home and some roofs were blown off in Central City.

I can't imagine uptown without the magnificent oak trees lining the streets........

I talked to a friend who stayed and lives about 2 blks from the Uptown Zotz- flooding came up to his porch but has gone down, trees down everywhere, he said damage wasn't too bad in the area

i live in this area and what i heard was as of last night and this early morning there was no water standing, but with all the levee breaks, the water has nowhere else to go but keep creeping up, so mid city could get water soon, then uptown is next. if they cant do anything to stop the water, the uptown area will go from just being wind damaged to flooded.

i know right now my apartment is above water, but i dont know if it will stay that way. i am so pissed that i cant get there to save anything. i do not have flood insurance, like most of us i am sure.

i am at my dads house in prairieville.
